The investment programme of Gdańsk Lech Wałęsa Airport for the years 2025–2028 comprises a package of tasks with a total value of about half a billion złoty. Its most important elements include: expansion of the airfield together with a new PPS4/4A apron (ultimately 45 aircraft stands and three new de-icing stands, cost approx. PLN 105 million), expansion of the aircraft maintenance base (MRO, approx. PLN 80 million), construction of a second office building, Bravo, as part of Airport City Gdańsk (16,500 m² of rentable space, approx. PLN 180 million), and a carport with a photovoltaic installation carried out by Polimex Budownictwo. The individual components are being implemented in stages through 2028. Note on the figure: the PLN 500 million is the airport's own aggregate, repeated by the PAP wire; the four publicly itemised components (105 + 180 + 80 + 23 million) sum to PLN 388 million, and Trojmiasto.pl – reporting independently the same day – put the programme at "blisko 400 mln zł" (close to PLN 400 million). The ~PLN 110 million gap is work not itemised publicly.

Significance

The programme is intended to increase the capacity and energy self-sufficiency of Poland's third-largest airport. The new apron and additional de-icing stands are to streamline air traffic handling, expansion of the MRO base strengthens the aircraft technical-servicing facilities, and the carport with photovoltaic modules is to reduce the airport's dependence on external energy supplies. The earlier expansion of Terminal T2 with a western pier enlarged the terminal area by nearly 16,000 m².
