Subcarpathian Centre of Children's Medicine (PCMD) in Rzeszów
The Subcarpathian Centre of Children's Medicine (PCMD) is a new, standalone children's hospital being built next to Clinical Provincial Hospital No. 2 on Lwowska Street in Rzeszów. The five-storey building with an area of over 34,000 m² is to house 195 beds (117 clinical, 63 day-care, and 15 intensive-care), as well as clinical wards, specialist outpatient clinics, operating suites, and a paediatric emergency department. The contract with the contractor – a consortium of Adamietz S.A. and Wodpol Sp. z o.o. – was signed on 23 June 2026, and the first construction works began in June 2026. The total value of the investment exceeds PLN 763 million, of which PLN 642.9 million is the construction works contract and nearly PLN 120 million is allocated to medical equipment. The investment, financed from local-government, EU, and national funds, is the largest medical undertaking in the history of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship. Completion of construction is planned for October 2029.

Significance
PCMD is to consolidate the hitherto dispersed paediatric care in the Podkarpackie region into a single modern, standalone children's hospital of over 34,000 m² and 195 beds, including 15 intensive-care beds. The building is planned to house clinical wards, specialist outpatient clinics (including new ones: genetics, otolaryngology, and obstetrics-gynaecology), operating suites, a paediatric emergency department, a blood bank, and an endoscopy laboratory. Described as the largest medical investment in the history of the Podkarpackie Voivodeship, the facility, valued at over PLN 763 million, is ultimately to provide children from the region with treatment at referral level, which until now has often required travel to centres in other voivodeships. Completion of construction is anticipated for October 2029.
