MikroGlob – satellite Earth observation system for the Polish Armed Forces
A programme to build a satellite Earth observation system for the Polish Armed Forces. A contract worth approx. PLN 556.7 million gross was signed on 20 December 2024 by the Armament Agency with Creotech Instruments S.A. It covers four optoelectronic microsatellites based on the HyperSat platform, imaging terrain in visible light and near-infrared, together with a ground segment for mission control and data processing. The resources are to be managed by the Geospatial Reconnaissance and Satellite Services Agency (ARGUS). The programme's first satellite, PIRX-1 (Mikroglob-1), reached orbit on 7 July 2026 aboard a Falcon 9 rocket as part of the Transporter-17 mission. The launch of all four satellites into low sun-synchronous orbit is planned by 2027.

Significance
The programme is to give the Polish Army a sovereign capability for optoelectronic Earth observation from space, complementing radar satellite reconnaissance with imaging in visible light and near-infrared. The four microsatellites based on the domestic HyperSat platform, together with the ground segment, are to reduce the army's dependence on foreign sources of reconnaissance data, and the execution of the contract by Creotech Instruments strengthens the national space industry. The launch of the first satellite, PIRX-1, in July 2026 ushered the Polish Armed Forces into the era of their own satellite Earth observation systems.

Independence is counted the same way the gate that admits a record counts it: subdomains and titles from one publisher are a single voice, Wikipedia is zero. That is why the number is lower than the number of links. Three is the minimum.
